If you were familiar with the scriptures you'd know Christ was addressing what is in a man's heart, not his pocket. And that we should consider others before ourselves. Does that offend you?

Nowhere does he imply its a sin to be rich, that we should abandon our families, etc.

And apparently you've missed the point of his sacrifice on our behalf entirely. Thats not unusual - very many have.

I’m not a socialist. In many cases, we should consider ourselves before we consider others.

In fairness to JC, he does say to love others *as you love yourself*, so he’s not a pure altruist like Auguste Comte.
