I graduated high school 20 years ago, and at that time I weighed approximately 135 pounds. I pretty much stayed that way until just a few years ago when I had some modest weight gain where I “peaked” for most of the years at around 155 pounds. About 18 months ago, I quit smoking after nearly 19 years with the habit and within a week of quitting, I gained 5 more pounds. Those 5 pounds increased my waistline 3 inches. I went from a size 29 to a size 32.

Sounds familiar (except the quitting smoking part). When I hit my late 40s it seemed that all of my weight maintaining tricks quit working. Not sure exactly how to proceed, but I”m muddling thru, as I refuse to be the FAT grandma!
