Maher Hussein Smadi said his son entered the U.S. with a student visa. But U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Smadi came to the United States legally in 2007 using a tourist visa and overstayed the time he was allowed to be in the country. A student visa would have made Smadi easier to track since a program was established after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to monitor educational visitors. Such a system doesn’t exist for tourists. ...... Federal immigration officials would not say what aspects of Smadi’s case the agency might be investigating, but it’s likely to be looking at how Smadi got a job and who hired him because a tourist visa doesn’t entitle a person to work in the United States. Mohamad Alhalwani, who operated the business where Smadi worked in Texas, said the manager who hired the young man looked over his documents and saw he had legal status to work. “We do not hire anybody illegally,” Alhalwani said.

Just thought that needed posting again. Yep, I was right about the expired student visa (or tourist or whatever). Interesting about the feds not checking on the tourist visas so those are the preferred documents now days. Geez, why not just give them all a welcome to America bomb building kit when they get off the plane (or sneak across the wide open border) for all the good our security is doing. Someone needs to check out the owner and employees of that Shell station.

I would laugh at giving them all bomb making kits but the number of people in this area( N. Texas) who are angry that the poor peaceful kid was set up by the FBI.

I can only hope when another peaceful muslim does blow something up it is housed with the people angry at the FBI ( not to kill them btw, just shut them up with reality)
