You KNEW this was coming. Watch any defense spending bill, my bet is that they will put it right alongside the spending for the troop increase. Treasonous bastards that they are.

Seems to me this was the process they used to get the first Porkulus package through the Senate, too.
It’s underhanded crap like this that fuels the anger of the citizenry. So much for transparency and ethics. So much for draining the swamp. The libtards are dancing on the shredded remnants of the Constitution, and the pubbies can’t find the stones to push back.
It’s time to take back the country.

Yes, attach this to an unconstitutional bill of attainer and signed by an unconstitutional Pres__ent. A nation of law will become what the Fascists want, a nation of partisan fiat.

SOMEWHERE in the Constitution it states the government can be overthrown if it doesn’t follow the will of the people ?

That’s in the Declaration, not the Constitution (unfortunately).

They can do this with a bill the House has already passed? Just go back and substitute whatever they want without a further vote?

My question, too. You wouldn’t think that this could be kosher.

Yes, they can do this kind of stuff. All the more reason the GOP needs to remain the party of “NO!”.

But if Reid is able to structure the debate so that all 60 senators who caucus with the Democrats stick with the party on cloture votes, he can pass the bill and send it to back to the House--where it originated as an entirely different bill in substance. I doubt he has all 60.
If the House were to then vote on the bill as passed by the Senate without amending it, it could be sent directly to the president for his signature without going through a House-Senate conference committee and another round of votes in each chamber.
Hard to see this happening in the House.
