Do you mean call it for Berry with 40% of precincts still out and Berry less than 2% above the 40% he needs to avoid a run-off. I don’t think that they’re anywhere near being able to call it for Berry.

But they are definitely getting close to being able to declare that Chavez won’t get to 40%.

Yes!! I couldn’t stand that moron Chavez. A shaved version of Bill Richardson, with the same proclivity towards corruption.

A conservative mayor in the biggest city in NM! May the wave of rat defeats begin with this one.

A Republican getting elected as Mayor of an urban city in New Mexico. Tonight’s victory along with the Delaware special election wins reveal that the GOP is showing signs of life.

Wow, I can’t believe Chavez conceded; the remaining vote must be in GOP areas. Still, they have to count the votes, and if Berry is even a smidgeon below 40% I don’t think that Chavez conceding would serve as a waiver of the run-off.

Maybe, maybe not. If the precincts yet to report are suburban districts where he is likely to win in any case, plus a lot of absentee and early votes by fired-up conservatives, then they can probably call it accurately hours in advance of the final count.

Berry kept rising as a percentage. High 30s then he sat at 40 and now up to 42. Could be higher than that at the end. When he dropped after the initial absentees came out, I thought the fix was in. Romero better get some bodyguards, the Dems are going to want his head. All the Republicans in ABQ should put him on their Christmas Card list. ;-D
