Cheney obviously cannot dictate what his adult daughter does, but he is more than free and able to offer his strong opinion on this degrading deathstyle. He refuses to do so, however.

You have no idea whatsoever whether he offered his strong opinion or not. Should he have made a public announcement the first time declaring that he is totally against his daughter having a child, just so we’d all feel better? We don’t know what kind of family discussions were had.

His daughter is an independent, financially secure adult. She was raised in the same household as her sister, who is straight and married. Yes, it is extremely complicated, I know I would hate to be in their position but they have dealt with is as a family. I am sure there has been more soul searching between them then we would ever know.

And last but not least, an innocent baby is being brought into it. As a family I am sure they will be huge influences on both children. Ideal? No. Would I want it in my family? No. But I would still love my granchild and make sure I was part of it’s life.
