Main points: - Look for Zelaya’s daughter, Xiomara Hortensia to take the helm of her father’s party - Foreign and domestic business owners are pressuring the interim government to negotiate - the interim government lifted their emergency powers, somewhat…details needed

------------

Honduras’ constitution prevents Manuel Zelaya from running for a second term. He wants that changed, but the new elections are next month. What if Manuel’s daughter appeared on the ballot for the November 29th run off?

Zelaya's daughter may run i lieu of her father, thereby propelling him back into power.

Hopefully the people of Honduras are smarter than to vote for her. I pray they won’t be seduced into serfdom so easily.

It’s one reason I have been interested in what percentage of the population are campensinos and how many are middle class and above.

If there really is a massive underclass, this could go poorly.

That is very unlikely. Candidates from all parties have to win primary elections first, which took place about a year ago.

She could also run as an independent candidate, without representing any party, but the incription period for these elections is also over, so she would have to wait 4 more years. And no independent candidate has ever gotten any signicant amount of votes here, to win the election you practically have to be from one of the two traditional parties, the Partido Nacional or Partido Liberal.

So basically she can’t run just because she’s zeLAIR’s daughter, unless they violate the laws and the constitution, like her father tried and couldn’t get away with it. So I would say its almost impossible.

Put her on the firing post with her father. Kill two birds with one bullet.

Maybe they think they can, like in Missouri when governor Carnahan died and the Democrats installed his wife in office. Rules are for everyone else.

Quoting you on another thread:

The Honduran military is a great institution, Many of my family members have been officers at some point in Honduran history. They have won many battles in the last 100 years.

Now you're saying, "Put her on the firing post with her father. Kill two birds with one bullet."

Do you believe in murdering everyone that disagrees with you? You're proud of your officer ancestors, but would they be proud of you, Andy?

We have no need to kill them.

Their buddy Chavez will eventually take care of them. After their failure, they will be more useful to him as martirs. And of course all the commies will blame us and the Jews.

From your post #12:

We have no need to kill them. (implying Chavez will kill Zelaya when he is no longer useful and blame it on us and the Jews)

ProudHonduran, this morning I searched all Honduras threads posted since the first mention of Zelaya's return on September 21st. I counted 50 posts that advocated assassinating Zelaya, including the one I cited above. So you have plenty of company. The record holder is sonofstrangelove, with about a dozen posts advocating Zelaya's assassination.

In Latin America, assassination is a part of life. I have had several relatives who were in the National Congress had their lives threatened by an assassin. My grandfather survived three attempts on his life, once while he was giving a interview on the radio. The assassins had broke into the radio station and try to kill him. Luckily, he had his pistol and killed both of them. Im sorry, your hero Zelaya does not have long to live

To the admin moderator:Is there a rule using old postings to current postings?

Do something about YOUR president, who is making things worst for us, and we could make you one of our National Heroes.
