Tea Party Express Setting Off on Different Tracks
By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
The Tea Party Express is set to roll again, across America for almost three weeks, October 25th - November 11th. This time, the route has them crossing the nation from coast-to-coast, and border-to-border, after requests from many people who were too far from the track to participate.
Organizers call the trip the "Tea Party Express: Countdown to Judgment Day," because it begins one year before the 2010 congressional elections.
Adding fuel to the fire, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi yesterday linked the mostly peaceful tea party protesters to some of the violence that took place in the sixties. She reportedly followed that statement by saying the debate has not crossed into dangerous territory, meaning the protesters were bad people, but not bad enough that anyone need worry about.
Tea Party organizers are ignoring Pelosi playing down her own rhetoric because they say she continually adds more fuel to the fire. Last month she made unfounded and untrue comments about healthcare protesters, when she said they were carrying "swastikas and symbols like that".
The Tea Party Express group say they will launch campaigns to defeat Members of Congress they call "the worst offenders in supporting the leftist policies of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid." Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is one of their top targets.
With less than a month to go before the Tea Party Express takes off, the group says this tour will be bigger and better than the last.
