Dyncorp PSD incident in the IZ (MUST READ) Corrupt Iraqi Security Forces
Babylon's Covert War ^ | 05 OCT 2009 | Report Issues

Posted on 10/05/2009 11:11:51 AM PDT by BCW

The Entry Control Points (ECP) into the International Zone (IZ) have been increasingly difficult to deal with. It is nothing that is intolerable. However, in an increasing basis Protective Security Detail (PSD) teams have been instructed to exit vehicles for search, download weapons and such. That is okay, because after all, Iraq, like it or not, is its own country and sets the ground rules.

Well, a few days ago the antics were ratcheted up again. As a team was entering ECP4 (old CP12) the last vehicle of the motorcade was stopped, which is not uncommon. This time though, the vehicles crew was harassed to give over smoke grenades. Lately IA’s/IP’s have been asking PSD teams for everything from water, to ammunition, to money. In following the guidance from the Department of State (DOS), Regional Security Officer (RSO), the vehicle commander of the vehicle attempted to find out the name of the Iraqi in charge of the ECP.

He did this, but by all reports went about it in the wrong manner, which in no way reflects on the rest of the team who are true professionals. However, he raised his voice towards the Captain and was generally less than polite. He was told by the Captain to get back in the truck and move on.

This is the reality of working in Iraq - everyone that subscribes tot he liberal theory that contractors are mercenaries are idiots. They are former US military or law enforcement working for what they should be paid - and this is how they are treated. Don't think Iraq is going to get it together - they won't - they can't - it's bred into them through hundreds (if not thousands) of years of tribal upbringing that adheres to violence!

They have done nothing to advance mankind - and they are never are going to do it!

sad - very sad - and the US military just rolled by and let US civilian (former soldiers & marines) get rolled up by Iraqi security forces and beat - and kidnapped - and beaten more!

This is sick!

When we leave it will just get worse as the infidel does not get to dictate to Muslims what Islam is. Nation building with Muslims was a huge mistake.

My brother worked for BW until April, he is now thinking of going back and has his paperwork in and his security clearance but no set time frame, I am going to forward this to him. He still keeps in close contact with those who stayed during the transfer from BW to Dynacorp and Triple Canopy. I think he is nuts to go back!

Some contractors fared about the same at the hands of USMC a couple years ago.

Nation building with Muslims was a huge mistake.

Duh. The inhabitants of the Muslim world want to control their own destiny and resent foreigners for trying to impose foreign values upon Islamic culture ... just like Americans would resent Muslims for trying to impose Islamic values upon American culture.

When Rush Limbaugh railed against Clinton over Haiti and Serbia, he argued that the purpose of the military is to kill people and break things and that nation-building was therefore a futile application of military force. It's a tragedy that so-called conservatives forgot this insight once a Republican president was elected.

I was with BW - and I can say this - the new ROE’s put everything into a new perspective. Tell him from one BW guy to another - it’s NOT worth it! Things over there are not so clear. Things are getting mucked up. Unless he works into the camp - but as a shooter - those days are gone brother!

really - do you use Firefox...go to the actual website.

Click on the .doc file and a box should pop up on whether or not you want to OPEN or DOWNLOAD. Unless that setting is already clicked for you.

It’s word doc yes - but I have nothing to do with it downloading into your Download folder.
