The side effect that caused me to stop taking it was that I had to take one Imodium-AD for each metformin tablet, so probably not, but I am taking a copy of the article to my next appointment.
When I was on Metformin I called it “MeFartin”. It can be hard on the GI tract.
I was the same way. First I was on glucophage, then glucovance, and finally I was put on Actoplus Met. The Actoplus Met was just right. A lot less stomach upset, and the combo of actos and metformin is more helpful on blood sugar.
The doctor gave that to me but I quit taking it because it made me feel really lethargic. No other side effects but since I drive alot I didn’t think it was such a good idea. I don’t think my problem was that serious, blood sugar was 118. I am trying not to eat carbs.
