I would disagree that Leno is such a disaster at 10 for NBC. His ratings (5-6 million a night) are about what the 10 PM hour was doing for NBC last year with its awful dramas, which cost twice what the Leno show does. It was a sign of desperation for NBC, but Leno is profitable even at those crappy numbers.
What I want to know is how they can continue to keep MSNBC running with its local-cable-access-level ratings.
I think they keep MS-NBC running along with CNBC because those cable slots are valuable. If you could just come up with programing anyone wanted to watch, you have access to customers.
Jay Leno should be moved to MSNBC at 8 pm. Give him the 2 hour slot.
