Knowing this, what IF at least half of the military protested following orders from the CIC until it's proven that he is eligible to BE the CIC? Would Zero order the military to rescind ALL of their orders?

Great question,my guess is until recognized leaders like Petraeus give those type of orders it probably won't happen. No one knows however what happens if you push the joint chiefs too far.
