“It was corporate America all the way,” said the consultant who has worked on numerous Olympics bids but asked not to be named. He said everyone from Chicago 2016 CEO Patrick Ryan to Mayor Richard Daley and even President Obama was stiff and seemingly unaware they weren’t politicking in an American election but rather in the international sports world.

“When the president said, ‘I urge you to vote for America,’ I thought, ‘Oh no.’ How do you have one of the most dynamic speakers say these things? It was unnatural,” he said.

You can also blame the failed bid on the disaster that was the Atlanta 96 games. They saw with Obama it was going to be more of the same, over-commercialized and probably badly run.

......everyone was stiff and seemingly unaware they weren’t politicking in an American election but rather in the international sports world. Obama actually told the IOC, "I urge you to vote for America......."

One of the stupidest remarks came from Obama: that he hoped to use the Olympics "to improve America's image." .......as if America has something to be ashamed of......

Americans were treated to their President apologizing for the country and downplaying its achievements........

Only the America-haters like Ohaha, and his minions, would think, and actually say, something so heinous.
