While I agree with your sentiment (I don’t think he should fired unless someone says he used this against them), neither of the two married him.
You are mistaken. One of them, was a long time acquaintance, an “om again, off again” lover, who had his baby, and he ended up marrying her recently. They now live together as man, wife, and 6(?) year old son.
