Stephanie Birkitt (who now lives with would be extortionist Robert (Joe) Halderman according to the New York Post) (pictured above) was David Letterman's assistant and was the first woman identified as having a sexual affair with the late night host.
Prosecutors said Halderman tried to shake down the multimillionaire because a divorce from his wife, Patty Montet, had left him in debt, saddled with $6,000 a month in support payments.
Friends said he also was distraught that Montet had moved to Colorado with their 11-year-old son earlier this year.
He recently split with his girlfriend, Stephanie Birkitt, 34, a “Late Show” staffer believed to be one of Letterman’s “other women.”

“I am surprised, mystified and stunned to hear these allegations against Halderman,” former CBS anchor Dan Rather told People magazine.
Is Stephanie Birkitt the one he used to call on the telephone from his desk each night? He used to refer to her as an intern. In later episodes, we would see her walk down the aisle giving dinner passes to people who won the weird quizzes. Is that the same girl? And, if so, is she involved in the extortion plot at all?
That may be so, but the affairs were before the marriage.
And neither of these “past affairs” seems to be making any claims against Letterman for undue pressure, harrassment, coersion or attempts to silence them.
Look, if he’s guilty of something, fine, attack at will, but first prove he did anything other than have personal relationships with consenting women, in apparently a one at a time manner.

But everything is not a joke - and when you are looking to put a funny spin on every little aspect of daily life, you really are not taking this life that God gave you seriously. I am not saying it is not OK to laugh, of course not. It is just that I used to be like him - sarcastic about everything.
There comes a point in life where you become so jaded by that constant drumbeat of your own making that you yourself become the joke.
I am 100% sure he approached diddling these women in the same sarcastic, throw away line, casual way.
He has never been held accountable for his juvenile behavior, and in 8 years the man will be 70 years old.
His attacks against Sarah Palin, her children were horrible. During the election, he held a nightly diatribe against John McCain because he canceled an appearance on his show. When McCain finally did make it on the show, Letterman ridiculed and punished him. It was very clear that Letterman is an Obama/Michelle worshiper.
You have to grow up someday, and Liberals are pathetic people.

I’m still looking. It wasn’t too hard to find her front page picture on facebook, but it’s the same as you posted yesterday. Her married name was included on that page and because of the New Orleans connection, I googled it. I can find no connection to any show business jobs.
I also found what could be a high school picture, but I hate to post that if it’s not her. I wish she would give a more thorough interview so that there would be a few more clues. I’m not completely convinced that the attractive picture that we are looking at, and that was featured in an article about Holly Hester, is the actual David Letterman Holly Hester. Of course, all of this is far from any earthshaking importance, but I am curious.
These ladies must be deaf,dumb, and blind. Or else in need of hard cash.

Wow, who knew! Still, it seems odd that her "boyfriend" (for lack of a better term) was the one who was trying to extort Letterman. Could she really NOT have been involved?

I will keep looking too, but the real reason is that I want to see if Letterman F'd up their lives somehow.
Well, I happened to run across these two pictures that purport to be of the real Holly Hester. To my eye the lady in the photographs is not the same rather glamorous one who was featured in an early article and that we subsequently believed to be authentic. Actually, this new girl looks more like David’s type. What do you think?

How does one "complain" about not getting the on-air gig or the tuition help that the intern who did sleep with him got, until one finds out about the hostile work environment that gets created when the boss hands out the plum assignments to the ones he's sleeping with?
I'd think that all the other other workers who didn't sleep with Letterman have a case in their favor.
