Perhaps Chicago would have done it differently, but I would not want to bet on it. I await the carnage in my native city- London Town. This is the only reason on the bright side of Chicago rejection. I think some poor powerless people might continue with their lives.
As to the failure of the President and his first lady, my contempt is for the Europeans. When(to their knowledge) the juggernaut was that of Senator Obama in his quest for the Presidency, they shilled and oohed and went overboard for him. Yet is was America that will have to stand - or fall on his Presidency. What a delightful sport for the Europeans and their distaste for George W. Bush. Here is the bottom line.
When the acceptance or rejection of President Obama, meant a direct and distinct effect on a massive project, the Europeans threw him under the bus.
They were just like everyone else giving the benefit of the doubt. We all know who and what he is now. Pictures of he and his friends decades long project, Chicago, do not paint a pretty picture. Pretty words...ugly reality. All of the money that they have been taking has not found it's intended mark. Someone must have decided that the city of Chicago has been robbed enough. Good on them.
