Democrats in Washington yesterday pressed ahead with their ill-advised efforts to control one-sixth of the US economy through a massive overhaul of the nation's health-care system.
And the public be damned.
That's right: A new Rasmussen poll shows support for "reform" slipping to just 41 percent, the lowest level ever -- while opposition has risen to 56 percent.
Yet congressional Democrats seem to be chomping at the bit to push through some kind of package.
True, a tiny morsel of common sense prevailed yesterday when the Senate Finance Committee voted down two amendments to Chairman Max Baucus' bill. The amendments -- including one from New York Sen. Chuck Schumer -- prescribed a government-run insurance plan, pushing the nation ever closer to nationalized health care.

I’ve already made up my mind to focus in on getting rid of the odious Alan Grayson in a neighboring district, since my own district seems to be safely in conservative hands.
Of course, Grayson is acting so over the top that he may already see that he’s dead meat and not run. But surely he’d be welcomed by the Obama administration with open arms for an appointed position.
