Photographs can be very telling. His desk in the oval office is bare. Always bare. He never works. Others do the work for him. I don't know if he's lazy, or he simply only does what he wants to do. OR is he such an idiot, that all he can do is read from a teleprompter and try to sway the weak. Maybe they don't want him around. I get the feeling he's just the messenger and it's looking like he's not a very good one. It's may have been easy to pull the wool over the eyes of people in Illinois. Not so easy to fool over 300 million Americans, at least not for very long. The honeymoon is obviously over. It is becoming apparent to many that he is simply a reader of speeches written by others.

And they used to complain about Reagan delegating duties.

Chm. Zer0 doesn't do a thing but flit around the Country/world giving reading speeches.

A major meeting going on in Washington concerning Afghanistan.
Where's Zer0? Denmark

Boy, what a surprise...............................NOT!!

If BO was the exact same person, only with different, uh, pigmentation, he wouldn’t make his 90 days probation managing an Arby’s—and the “Worst Lady” is even lamer.

As a young lawyer-an associate in a busy firm--BO and wifey should have been working like dogs Here's an excerpt from a WaPo Magazine article about their early days:

"Another colleague, Mary Carragher, who at the time was a more senior associate assigned to work with Michelle, remembers how smitten Barack and Michelle seemed with each other. Sometimes, in the slow hours around 5:30 p.m., Carragher would go to Michelle's office to talk about a case or drop off some work, and, through the half-open door, she would see Barack, sitting on one corner of the desk. Michelle would be seated, the two of them rapt, oblivious, chatting.

"I could tell by the body language, he's just courting her," says Carragher, who would quietly depart without bothering them, thinking, 'You know what, I'm going back to my office.' "

I know if Obama's desk was cluttered then people would make an issue of that. Is it necessary that we criticize the President for every little matter of no importance? It makes us look small minded and petty, and it may well marginalize conservatism in the eyes of the public. There are enough issues of real substance to contend with without wasting our time over matters of style.

I don't know if he's lazy, or he simply only does what he wants to do.

Once upon a time, I had a partner. He was a nice guy, he brought some bread to the party and he was eager to make a success of the party.

Three months in, though, I concluded he was one of the laziest SOBs I'd ever encountered.

Six months in, though, I realized he wasn't really lazy, as he appeared to be. The problem was: He simply didn't know how to work! His money and his upbringing insulated him from ever having had to learn the initiative or discipline of real work.

He could create a marvelously detailed "Things To Do" list. But he didn't know how to actually do them.

How do you teach a grown man to work? When he's never had to before?

Fortunately, he was not in a decision-making capacity and didn't have any responsibilities that others couldn't cover for. Subsequently, we parted ways, casting loose the dead weight. He remained a nice guy, but utterly useless outside the country club or the marina.

Obama strikes me as a similar personality.

Unfortunately, he's POTUS.

How odd, not even a photo of his mom, grandma, wife or kids on the desk....
He probably only uses the office for photo ops.

Another useless room to him, much like a formal dining room or living room in a house.....IF he works he doesn’t do it here....

Wasn’t the oval office where the bust of Churchill was (that he gave back)? Why would he do that if he never uses this room?

I think that he is not too comfortable in The Oval Office or White House. It’s probably seems kind of spooky for him to be in a place that represents the greatness of America when he really isn’t one of us and doesn’t like our country.

Here’s a bit from an article from CBS News that compared 0’s Senate office to McCain’s.

“McCain’s office oozes comfy clutter and informality: random piles of books, a fortune-cookie message taped to the desk, an abundance of tchotchkes and bric-a-brac.

Obama’s office feels more like a gallery of modern art: precisely placed objects, sparsely adorned surfaces, clean lines, choreographed displays.”

“Obama has been a senator only since 2005, and his office in the Hart Office Building has a fresh, clean look to it.”

The decor is carefully choreographed. When an assistant shifted the location of one painting while Obama was away, the senator had it moved back.

“He’s tidy. It stays tidy,” Tate-Gilmore said.”

And here are the quotes that seem so apropos to this thread:

“Obama’s office is as notable for what’s missing as for what’s there.

The credenza behind his desk contains a handful of file folders in one drawer, but otherwise is completely empty.”

And:

“Obama’s desktop, once used by former Illinois Sen. Paul Simon, is a testament to discipline.

It is home to two family photos, a very uncrowded inbox, a mug full of pens, and little else.”

“Are there any cracks in all of this office discipline?

Obama does doodle, his aides report.”

I wish I had seen this thread earlier so I could have shared this with more people. It doesn’t sound like he used his office to do any work when he was a Seanator either.

Now it's mid October, still nothing. They bring him things ti sign, he signs and is out there and on Air force One, off to a fundraiser. He isn't president, he is the campaigner in chief. Who is really running the show here? The only time anything is on his desk is when someone else is there. Like Rahm:

Simple explanation, he's out sourcing.
