I just thought it was funny that three people said the same thing within the first few posts...lol
Well I thought if you were on the sea, you weren’t likely to even notice a tsunami.

Do you have the twitter link?
Well I live in a Northern California( close to Oregon) Tsunami area and I know for a fact IFF a tsunami does ever hit here again the place will be wiped out including my home...heh, it’s a rental. Fools should ALWAYS build pole houses in tsunami areas but they don’t because a basic slab or other lower based foundations are cheaper...until they lose it all. It’s like building a wood shingle home in a fire zone.
They won’t feel a thing on the boat if they are in deep water
I haven’t seen Survivor this season, but I wouldn’t worry even if the location is Samoa. Those shows are taped WAY in advance, so all the contestants and TV crew are probably back home here on the American mainland by now.
And the busses...
Just spoke to my wife in Apia Capital of Samoa, she and 3 kids are fine but were terrified when the house shook violently for nearly 5 mins, paintings fell from walls, louvres popped from windows, the main door that was locked popped open. Severe after shocks. Local radio reporting that water levels have dropped around the coast, indicating maybe a wave will arrive soon. Most people have left the coast and moved to higher ground
Surf’s Up!
Continued prayers for safety in Samoa.
Hope your family is headed for the hills
yea, only 10 feet but it depends upon how steeply the island goes into the water. the more gentle the slope, the larger the wave (it has time to build)..
Not to worry.
On the open sea most tsunamis, no matter how large when they hit shore, are barely noticeable.

AP
PAGO PAGO, American Samoa A tsunami swept into Pago Pago (Pan-go, pan-go) in American Samoa shortly after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.9 shook the Pacific area.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or structural damage.
Fili Sagapolutele, who works at the Samoa News, says water flowed inland about 100 yards before receding, leaving cars stuck in mud.
