FWIW, in spite of Kaine’s “personal opposition” Virginia remains 2nd only to Texas in carrying out executions.

For the most part, Kaine has done well with this issue.

Yes, it seemed rather “quick” to me, although seven years is still far too long in my opinion. A fair trial, time to to prepare a defense, get a good jury, have an appeal if reasonable - should not take more than a year.
