Dan, anyone who thinks the "Tea Parties" got their momentum from BUSH needs a lobotomy. Yes, people were concerned about spending and bailouts under Bush.

But that concern didn't turn to FEAR under Bush---it turned to FEAR under Obama.

And who says a racist can't simultaneously have self-guilt? Some of the biggest "gay bashers" were . . . well, homosexuals.

What I do know is that Beck gets results that independently some of these other movements and or videos would NOT attract. No, he didn't start the Tea Party movement, but he did successfully publicize it. And his show kind of became the media vehicle for the movement.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH BECK'S SILLY NOTION THAT "IT'S ABOUT BOTH PARTIES." IT IS NOT! There were no mass marches against Bush, not even against the bailouts. Bush's policies were bad, but they were not motivated by a hatred of America as are Obama's and the SOONER BECK GETS OFF THIS "BOTH PARTIES DO IT" CRAP, the more effective he will be.

I disagree. The Republican party has only given lip-service to its stated platform. In the past decade, wherein the Legislature and the Executive were Republican-majority, the only real progress on ending abortion (which is part of the stated platform) was the Mexico City policy — And that was just denying federal funds to be used on promoting foreign abortions. The stem-cell research ban on embryonics was merely holding the line.

Similarly, while the deployment of National Guard to the Southern border [Operation Jump Start] was a good first-step it is over now and NO additional ‘steps’ were taken.

Honestly, can you tell me based on actions/events what differentiates Republicans and Democrats when they had the power to be relevant?

Trust me, I’ve seen defeat snatched from the Jaws of Victory... the Republican party could EASILY do that, and it’s appearing moreso that the Democratic party can as well.

Events like these won Glenn Beck over to our side.

Yes, LS, Beck has been bugging me with his constant harping on this as well. The only way for the right to re-gain power is through the Republican party. There are a lot of elected conservative Republicans and we should support them, but Beck seems to want to throw them all under the bus. That would gain us nothing. A 3rd party movement would be A DISASTER for the right. The Republicans are NOT IN ANY WAY as bad as the Democrats and I am sick of hearing Beck say they are. I haven’t even been watching him because of it.

“I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH BECK’S SILLY NOTION THAT “IT’S ABOUT BOTH PARTIES.” IT IS NOT!”

You are 100% right.

It’s sad, but these ‘great leaders’ whether in the Republican Party or talk-radio or what have you ... they are doing good work, but they do lack the depth and thoughtfulness to THINK THROUGH what is REALLY GOING ON.

Comparing the GOP and Democrats as problems is like comparing the flu and brain cancer as ‘both diseases’. The level of seriousness of what they do is not comparable.

It's not a "silly notion". It's the truth.

SOONER BECK GETS OFF THIS "BOTH PARTIES DO IT" CRAP, the more effective he will be.

Sorry but it does include both parties, when you realize that you will be more affective.

In a way this is what Beck said when he said McCain would have been worse than 0bama. Levin was all over him for saying that but Beck's point was that had it been McCain doing all this CRAP, republicans and yes even some conservatives wouldn't have gotten up to protest on 9-12 because it was done by a repub, and McCain wouldn't have been so heavy handed and rammed it through so quickly. [Remember the show Beck did about the frog boiling].

Beck admitted he voted for McCain and the way he worded his statement was wrong, but his point was a good one. If anything got Americans to pay attention to what's happening in Washington it was the coronation of Lord Zero and his Czars.

Beck deserves credit for putting things together and explaining them in an understandable way. The left thrives on deception, and they despise Beck for lifting the veil. I like Levin, but he doesn't have the audience Beck has.
