NEAR ALTON A drunken dispute over a small debt led to a Mexican national's fatal shooting Saturday, authorities said.
Two Mexican nationals have been arrested in connection to the crime. The duo was charged with murder at an arraignment Monday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a call of a man's body that lay in a ditch about 4 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 10 Mile Line and Texan roads, according to a Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office statement.
Authorities identified the body as David Bello Crisolis, an illegal immigrant from Veracruz, Ver., Mexico. His age is unknown.
Deputies said Crisolis had been shot and stabbed at least once. An autopsy set for today should provide further details about Crisolis' cause of death.
Homicide investigators arrested Daniel Chavez Muñoz, 67, and Juan Cruz Paredes, 49, in connection with the murder.
Both men confessed to investigators that Crisolis' murder stemmed from a drunken argument over a small debt. The suspects said they were friends with Crisolis and were laborers at three different ranches in the area, deputies said.
Investigators identified Chavez, an illegal immigrant from Pachuca, Hgo., Mexico, as the shooter involved in the murder. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have deported him five times prior to Saturday's shooting, deputies said.
Paredes is an illegal immigrant who hails from Pantepnec, Pue., Mexico, deputies said.
Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Ismael "Melo" Ochoa handed down the murder charges at an arraignment Monday afteroon. Each man received a $500,000 bond.
Crisolis' murder is the 17th murder investigated by Hidalgo County Sheriff's deputies in 2009. Nine of those cases have been solved.

Mexican national= illegal immigrant
Just killing the illegals Americans are too lazy to kill. For once, I found a profession I don’t mind the illegals helping out with.... so long as no Americans are harmed in the process.
Mexican Nationalists !!!! Nice way of saying illegal aliens...
“Mexican nationals”? Does that mean they were here on an official diplomatic visit?
Are Mexican guns fueling violence in the United States?
ping
A DHS spokesman today denied the truth of that report from last week. A Tucson sector big-wig made last week's announcement, and DHS denied it today.
I wonder why? ;^)
