Look at definitions of “rogue” used as an adjective, not a noun:
“Vicious and solitary. Used of an animal, especially an elephant.”
“Large, destructive, and anomalous or unpredictable: a rogue wave; a rogue tornado.”
“Operating outside normal or desirable controls.”
Yes, but if anything it has a more negative connotation than maverick (which I never want to hear uttered again). And again I think her challenge is to come across as solid and reliable operating within our established institutions—while still cleaning them up. Her unconventional outsider bona fides I think are already well established.
But again, I’m nobody’s political consultant and I’m glad she’s going to be out on the circuit again soon.
