MIAMI (Reuters) - An Obama administration task force has so far cleared 75 of the remaining 223 Guantanamo prisoners for release as part of its effort to close the detention camp, a military spokesman said on Monday.
The review team is examining each prisoner's case to decide who will be held for trial and who can be sent home or resettled in other nations.
President Barack Obama had set a January 22 deadline to shut the detention camp although Defense Secretary Robert Gates told ABC News in an interview broadcast on Sunday that "it's going to be tough" to meet the deadline.
As the review team makes its decisions, military officials at Guantanamo post an updated list in the camps to let the prisoners know how many from each nation have been judged free to go.
"It was an opportunity to just provide better communication," said Navy Lieutenant Commander Brook DeWalt, a spokesman for the Guantanamo detention operation. "There's a lot of information out there and you get a lot of things from a lot of different angles. It helps put it in a more succinct context for them."

Did the release questionnaire include some key questions such as
1. Are you a salafi wahaabi?
2. If you haven’t killed any infidels in the past, do you plan to do so in the future?
3. What is your order of hatred for infidels - 1) Shi’ite Muslims 2) Jews 3) Christians 4) infidel of the day - please rearrange as per your preference.
4. Suppose you had captured an innocent unarmed infidel, which you may someday because of your demonstrated record of cowardice - What would be your preferred method for killing that unarmed helpless captive - 1) slaughter and decapitation 2) bullet to the back of the head 3) an IED or a bomb 4) whatever else sick method of the day.
And when they ask why you want to know, tell them no worries, we keeping a database just so that we know the kind of murderous brutal barbarian we let go to wreak havoc in the world in the near future.
Not only ignoring General McCrystal’s request for reinforcements, but actively providing reinforcements for the enemy. Clear cut treason.

I watched a show about the “Werewolfes” in post WWII Germany last night on History International. They were basically Nazi citizens who continued to wage war against the Allies after Germany surrendered. The US would execute by firing squad any werewolfe that was captured(The Brits used the guillotine). This sent a stern message to the citizenry and certainly discouraged citizens from taking up arms against the occupation. I know we are too PC to be so “brutal” now-a-days but I have to wonder what Iraq and Afghanistan would be like had we taken this same approach.
