I would NEVER call it a toilet .. visually, physically .. it’s a stunningly beautiful city and very clean. The architecture alone .. much vintage .. is simply magnificent.
It’s that filthy underbelly of politics, government, unions .. the control over which they seem to have over the lives of the citizens.
Anyone visiting would be delighted with the scenic views of the city, the incredible mecca it is for fine and unique dining and shopping... it’s a big, multi-dimensioinal, exciting city.
All big cities are a stew of many ingredients and elements. Severe murder and crime seems centralized mostly on the south. The biggest of big city problems are hidden from the occasional visitor .. only visible when one examines how a resident is affected in their daily routine lives by the overlord’s policies and Machine dominance.
And in the balance of all the above, it seems an inconceivable location for the Olympics.
Sorry to those I offended but serious save the words stunningly beautiful for places that deserve it such as tropical islands, beautiful vistas in south america, the grand canyon, sunsets in Hawaii etc...it’s kind of like calling pro-sports players “heroes”.
It’s why I love living here.
I’ll stack the Art Institute, Gibson’s, Wrigley Field, the Lakefront, the skyline, Millenium Park, and the cleanliness of the city up against any other urban center in this country or anywhere.
People don’t have to love it, but calling it a toilet is just idiotic.
