In the eight months he has been in office, Mr Obama has snubbed India more than once. He has sent repeated signals that New Delhi is not integral to his Asian security architecture. Partly as a result of his countrys economic crisis, he has bent over backwards to accommodate China. His open advocacy of protectionism has been most visibly targeted at outsourcing of technology jobs to India. He headlined anti-trade legislation by saying it would punish those who created jobs in Bangalore rather than Buffalo, a special mention that was extraordinarily impolitic and did not go unnoticed in India. In contrast, the tariff war against Chinese tyres has not been posited in such stark bilateral terms. This past week, the Obama team reversed a decade of American nuclear pragmatism and went back to an outdated non-proliferation agenda that should have died, really, in the 1990s. Once more, India has been asked to give up its nuclear weapons and sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as a second-tier power. Most alarmingly, Mr Obama has swung wildly on Afghanistan-Pakistan (AfPak). At various points his diplomats and Generals have said different things. Yet, in all this the overarching political message has been missing.
There has been a remarkable absence of clarity on Mr Obamas strategic goals.

Aren’t they right!
What a shame that this narcissistic empty suit is president!
ROFL...The rest of the world (well, the part that MATTERS) is waking up to Obama’s weakness much as America herself is doing...
Insult your friends, cultivate your enemies.
The Obama foreign policy mirrors his comtempt for America.
India is fighting islamic terrorism within their own borders. I bet Zero doesn’t like that one bit.
But. The. Entire. World. WANTED. Dear Leader.
They. Got. Him.
India seems to be saying, “I am not knowing why you would elect such a man. He is not wanting to help us. You guy. “
The UK, Aussie and India press have Zero’s numberbut good.
Only our state run media synchophants are willing to appear as utter fools on a daily basis in their parallel-universe approach to reporting.
“ROFL...The rest of the world (well, the part that MATTERS) is waking up to Obamas weakness much as America herself is doing...”
I’d like to agree with you about America waking up. I don’t see it. Those who are “waking up” are the ones who didn’t want him in the first place.
Actually I would amend my prior statement placing parallel universes in a slight negative light.
I actually could learn more about our country’s state from watching the TV show, Fringe, with its parallel universes than I could from following the NY Times, WA PO, LA Times and Ms. Coutic, Jeopardy Whiz-Blitz and their ilk.
But....but....he photographs so well!
WOW...This is a scathing article. Truth is gaining.
Make that everyone could have done without little bammie. Perhaps if he went back to Chicago or where ever and grow up, get'a job, etc...
America. Is. Running. Low. On. Punctuation. Please. Conserve. Periods.
It was known as a conservative paper then and apparently still is.
The comments at the site are interesting. Lots of Americans saying in effect, "We're sorry," and except for one conspiratorial loon, a bunch of Indians agreeing.
Please. With all of those pauses, it takes me all day to read the sentence.
This is series.

I agree. This is all intentional...AND a huge mistake. I’ve always said that his foreign policy scares me more than his domestic agenda, which says a lot!
Contemptuous and disdainful towards America's friends; weak and craven towards America's enemies; rapacious and oppressive towards America's citizens.
And we're only through a little more than the first eight months. Things are going to get worse.
