All the laid-off workers are snatching the jobs that entry-level folks would get. The hiking of the minimum wage, and the fact that young folks these days seem to have this entitlement mentality lead to huge unemployment for that demographic.
I don’t think we’ll feel the full effect of this until another 5-10 years when these 16-24 y/o get kicked out of their parent’s basement. When that happens, they will be a young and angry demographic that will press a socialist agenda. It will be like the 60’s again.
Voting out Obama will not be the end of the socialist agenda in America. I think we will see a lot of chaos before this ship rights itself again.
My youngest boy trashed his knee on a second job and was laid off by the railroad when he could no longer perform. He's now driving a school bus part time and - working at Burger King part time. He applied for the job out of desperation, with little hope of landing it - "I'm in competition with the teeney-boppers". He is 40 years old and was stunned that they took him on.
