Federal Express flew the penguins from the New Orleans aquarium right after Katrina and brought them all to Monterrey aquarium. After a few months they brought them back. Betty White and one of the Packard girls put up a bunch of money to take care of them.

FedEx will do this, but they leave one of their own employees stranded by himself on an island for years?

The story, had you read it, points out that Angel Flight did not offer to help.

Quote: "including Angel Flight, but they weren’t able to find anybody who would fly the little girl in her serious medical condition from Houston to Arkansas."

It's more likely that Angel Flight didn't have the highly trained staff that were required to fly this young girl home successfully. Angel Flight is a volunteer organization of mostly pilots who give their time freely to fly patients needing surgery, chemotherapy, dialysis, and other treatments.

This poor young girl needed a crew of highly trained people to take care of her during the flight. Since Angel Flight is mostly volunteer pilots I don't think it's fair for your to knock Angel Flight in this case. I'm guessing their inability to help this young girl probably broke their hearts too.

By the way, here are the Angel Flight Guidelines for Pateints that are posted on Angel Flight's website. It's not that they didn't want to help, they're not staffed or qualified to if you read their guidelines.

Hey now, he wasn't by himself.

No problem. I was annoyed by the tone of post 10 — that this story should be no big deal because such flights happen a lot. That’s like saying a rose is no big deal because lots of people grow them.

I have 3 grandchildren and one niece that are all 7 years old. I can’t imagine any of them in this situation.

I think it was probably due to the difficulty of transporting someone who is on a ventilator. I had a friend who used to be a pilot for Angel Flight until he was tragically killed in a plane crash. He always used his own private plane. Most private planes would not be equipped for transporting this type of patient.

>>>Free Market charity. Government can’t touch this.

Obama-care would have let the girl die a long time ago.

Thanks for posting this. I was gonna post it if someone else hadn’t. Yeah, it got me blurry-eyed too. Way to go, FEDEX!

I admire FedEx’s CEO/Founder. He’s got a heck of a bio:

I wouldn’t mind seeing him run for president.

Wow. I usually use the post office that Obama touts as a wonderful example of a nationalized business to ship things, but I may have to go to FedEx now! WTG, FedEx—humanity first!
