World Powers To Demand 'Unfettered Access' to Iran Nuclear Site
VOA News ^ | September 27, 2009

The United States and five other world powers are planning to demand what they call "unfettered access" to Iran's new nuclear facility.

A senior U.S. official, who refused to be named, says the United States and other world powers will also demand Iran turn over within weeks other information it has been withholding on its nuclear program.

Diplomats from the U.S. and the five other powers - Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China - are scheduled to meet with an Iranian delegation in Geneva Tuesday.

But even as world powers increase the pressure on Iran about its nuclear ambitions, Iran's president is refusing to back down.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reporters in Tehran Saturday that the U.S. and its allies already regret rebuking Iran over the facility's existence.

My intuition says, liar , liar. Sure they admit to another site.

They need to give access to the country.

By intent or accident, they’re doing only one thing, ensuring that Israel becomes the fall guy when they take out the plants. And I’m sure that we’re going to hear loads of stories about the environmental catastrophe that it’s become, with fallout being detected in other countries, and the countryside becoming a radiation no man’s land. And we’ll tsk and tut as the Arabs focus once again on attacking Israel. Heck, the White House might even make a statement, saying how Israel’s actions have made any further progress in Afghanistan impossible and how they’re pulling out...

I’ll bet more on intent, that the administration is going to dump the Middle East into Israel’s lap, and tell them to deal with it, maybe even leaking out that Israel just wouldn’t give up it’s nukes to pacify Iranian bloodlust and peacefully put an end to the stalemate.

This could be the perfect opportunity for the Israeli Mossad to sabotage the site James Bond 007 style by killing the Iranian nuke scientists and blowing up the Halliburton-supplied centrifuges.

Yeah, right. Then Hans Blix’s successors will be able to walk right in and demand the facility be shut down, or at least all the production be diverted into “peaceful” uses, like generating electrical power or a desalination plant for sea water, converting it into fresh potable water for irrigation or industrial use.

The production of weapons grade refined uranium proceeds unfettered at other as yet undisclosed locations, that a number of intelligence services around the world already know about, but have not made publicly known, because that would compromise the sources within Iran.

Meanwhile Iran has no large-scale refineries within their own country, depending instead on re-importing the petroleum products in exchange for their exported crude oil and natural gas. Where are their priorities?

We should either nuke it, or forget about it and let them do whatever they want with it. There’s no point “gaining access” to it. That doesn’t accomplish anything except to lay the foundation for another decade of “negotiations” and “sanctions”, which could be interrupted at any time by the Iranian government deciding to nuke somebody.

I wonder if Rahmbo and Axelrod are thinking right now that the Bambi administration could improve its drooping approval ratings and get socialized medicine passed just by dropping a few bombs on Iran.

Demand access... or what? Sanctions? That worked so well with Iraq and North Korea.

Re: By intent or accident, they’re doing only one thing, ensuring that Israel becomes the fall guy when they take out the plants.

Well, it is not like Israel has not walked that road before. Most of their existence the Israelis have been surrounded by hostile forces, but never have they had such an antisemitic American President mucking things up.

However, I believe if it comes to it, the Israeli Air Force and Navy will strike and strike hard come hell or high water. In truth, they do not have any other choice when the alternative is another holocaust.

Yet this time, either way the shoe drops, the blame will fall right at Obama's doorstep.
