Case Closed ( Baucus bill makes private insurance illegal too )

One of President Obama's mantras with regard to the Democrats' health care proposal (whatever it turns out to be) is that if you like your present health insurance coverage, you will get to keep it. More recently, when the fraudulent nature of that pledge was revealed, he changed the formula to "the bill won't require you to lose your coverage." That's right; it won't require you to lose your coverage, it will just cause you to lose your coverage.

On Thursday, as the Senate Finance Committee was marking up the Baucus version of the bill, Senator Orrin Hatch tested the Democrats' sincerity on this issue by offering a simple amendment:

The purpose of this amendment is simple. If the secretary of Health and Human Services certifies that more than 1 million Americans would lose the current coverage of their choice because of this bill, then this bill would not go into effect.

It seems like a very, very simple but perfect amendment for those of us who have integrity. This amendment is simply trying to safeguard President Obama's pledge to the American people, you'll get -- that you will get to keep what you have.

You already know, of course, how the amendment fared. Here is the roll call of the Democrats' votes:

BAUCUS: Roll call has been requested. Quickly call the roll.

CLERK: Mr. Rockefeller.

ROCKEFELLER: No.

CLERK: Mr. Rockefeller, no. Mr. Conrad.

CONRAD: No.

The Democrats are perfectly well aware that millions of Americans will lose the coverage they have under their proposal, whatever form it finally takes. In fact, that's their objective: in the long run--President Obama has said it may take 10 to 20 years--they intend to force all of us to lose our private health care and be forced into a socialized medicine system.

The baucus bill is just as bad an assault on liberty as the house bill is.

Americans lose their insurance.

Americans can't buy insurance elsewhere.

Americans refuse to join Obamacare.

Americans refuse to pay a fine for being uninsured.

IRS issues arrest warrants for uninsured Americans.

Federal Agents knock on the doors of uninsured Americans to arrest them...

More apt to be a voice vote.

All in favor?
AYE!

Opposed
nay

No one will be held accountable for their vote, as no one will own up to having actually voted for this turkey.

They better be busy getting the doctors on board. Won’t do much good to give the folks Obamacare if doctors won’t take govt. insurance.

I seriously expect a black market (oooo! a racist term!) to arise should this atrocity become law. And a lot of normally-law-abiding citizens are gonna use it. Most Americans want to be healthy & free to eat what they want.

Go back to Kenya, boy. And take your little worship club of Senators & Tingly Media with you.

The saddest part of this was that by the Republican proposal (from the party of “Sustainable Socialism”), if 1,000,000 Americans are going to lose their insurance coverage under the new law, that’s OK. It’s only bad (according to Hatch) if 1,000,001 or more lose their coverage.

I hate to say it, but the Republicans are almost as bad as the Democrats on this. They are the party of “Let’s make sure it isn’t excessively bad. We can agree to something that is only a little bad.”

All health care expenses for prisoners get paid by the state. So don't buy it, don't pay the fine and get free health care along with your free food, clothes and housing. You already lost your freedom before your arrest, so no big personal loss from the arrest. If enough folks realize this and dare the Rats to arrest them the authorities will either blink soon or choke on the bill.
