Leftists are anti-business. So conservatives feel the need to defend the actions of business even when it is demonstrably non-conservative.
If anything is conservative, surely it is “conserving” our natural resources and environment.
I have no idea whether the particular issue here has been rightly decided by the judge. I do know that kneejerk defense of any and all business activity is profoundly unconservative.
Just as capitalists will cheerfully sell the rope to hang them with to commies, they will also cheerfully destroy the commons we all have to live in, if they can make a buck by doing so.
Capitalism, like science, is amoral. It is merely the most efficient way of allocating resources based on the demand. It does not figure issues like right and wrong into its accounting. This works just fine, as long as we don’t expect the market to do something it is not suited for.
“If anything is conservative, surely it is conserving our natural resources and environment.”
I agree with a lot of what you say BUT shutting down agriculture, a long time Califirnia mainstay, and importing food from all over the world ain’t exactly conservitive either.
Well, then... Why don't you spend a little time out of your busy life and look into it instead of prognosticating that this absurdity might somehow be justified. Your presumption that even some conservatives back business people each and everytime, right or wrong is insipid and foolish.
I'm not trying to be offensive here, but I find your efforts to preclude anyone having a valid resentment for the total lack of common sense in this and hundreds of other much like it is more than mildly offensive to most of the conservatives I've ever known!!!
I've even seen some people that own horses for occasional riding complaining about the very water used for their own horse that was brought to them by the Bureau of Reclamation and the State Water Project in the way you seem to lean toward the Delta Smelt over the daily needs of said horse. That's thinking just filled with turbidity!!!
