Now, will Dems have the guts to investigate this corruption and misuse of taxpayer dollars? Or do we need to say "culture of corruption" until they do?
In the wake of the ACORN child prostitution/tax fraud and illegal immigrant smuggling video sting new attention has focused on the corrupt organization that reveals the rot goes much deeper than a few bad apples.
Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) is the Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee and has been looking into the matter. On the Senate Committee web site he posts a report from the Committee's Tax Staff which is dynamite.
The Grassley Report calls ACORN a "big shell game" in which charities "are being used to raise monies which are then funneled to other charities or to other organizations for purposes other than what the donor may have intended. . . . Dollars raised for charitable [purposes] appear to be used for impermissible lobbing and political activity." As someone who monitored grants for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency I can tell you what a huge red flag that last statement is. It's not just a no-no, it may be a violation of federal law.

That's what was said about the Black girl who falsely accused the Duke players of rape. She still hasn't been charged with anything.
I expect the same will happen with ACORN.
> “It would serve no useful purpose to put people in jail.
YES IT WOULD.
They will be an example for other not to pull this crap.
By not putting them in jail, it send the message that it’s OK.
The federal government is in cahoots with organized crime, and that’s all there is to it.
Well, this can’t reflect badly on Obama. After all, we have his WORD that he didn’t know that ACORN was receiving a lot of government money, and besides, he has his mind on more important matters than wasteful and illegal spending of taxpayer dollars.
I wonder how much money the DemonRATs have funneled to offshore bank accounts? Much of this money is grant money that we the taxpayer give to these organizations. They have taken “trickle down” to a whole new level.
This is leak out money to your private bank accounts and trickle on the American taxpayer.
I didn't know who they were at the time.
The people there were all Black and very friendly and kept offering a pamphlet to others but not me. I picked up one of them and put in my purse.
Later, reading it surprised me.
It stated that they had a savings program at a local bank and would match every dollar that I put in a savings.
The only catch was that you had to go to their educational program of some sort.
It also stated that preference was being shown to people who lived in a certain neighborhood. I lived on the border but was not interested in their program.
A free giveaway of your taxes!
Throw the bums out.
Duh
I just got a letter from my governor today regarding my question about ACORN. No state funds/tax money are going to ACORN.
