If there is an easier to understand problem with it, I’d like to know about it, as it would help during discussions with some non-creationists.

There are all manner of problems for the notion of punctuated creation.

One thing I rarely hear mentioned, is the difficulty in the original translations of the Bible.

First, there was no punctuation.
Second, there were no vowels.

So, when someone assures me that the literal words in the NEW KING JAMES REVISED VERSION, are the literal words of God, I just smile!
