AIKEN, S.C. (AP) The South Carolina congressman who gained national attention for shouting "you lie" at President Obama during a speech to Congress will attend a Republican rally in Aiken.
The Aiken Standard reports the Saturday rally will be held at the Republican Party headquarters in Aiken. Some have called the event a fundraiser and a show of support for Wilson.
Aiken County Councilman Scott Singer called the rally awkward. He said he didn't want the rally to appear to support of Wilson's outburst.
Wilson's shout at the president came after Obama said that extending health care to all Americans who seek it would not mean insuring illegal immigrants. He apologized, calling the outburst a "lack of civility."

JOE WILSON A GOP HIT The Republican Party is using the newfound fame of U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., the lawmaker who shouted “You lie!” at President Barack Obama to raise money for GOP candidates around the country. Wilson will appear at a fundraiser for Tim Walberg in Michigan and is soliciting money for state legislative races in Virginia and for the national GOP.
YEP! And those who think they need to distance themselves from him are, or will be, the losers!
Love that guy! He spoke the truth and only apologized for his outburst.
The RINOs won’t like this. To them, Wilson is a racist who must be avoided.
That includes one Scott Singer noted in the article. He should be dumped if for no other reason than terminal stupidity.
Rhinos are an endangered species. They aren’t the Republican Party or conservative. They almost never take offense at the most offensive leftist diatribes yet get all wishy washy over a bit of unvarnished truth. Most I believe are moles that have a goal to dilute and disarm conservatives and Republicans.

You mean like the RINO's, aka "Country Club Republicans" that were content to be in the minority for 40+ years?
RINO's exist in large numbers in the Republican party, likely the majority, and far outnumber true Conservatives in the party. The whole point of the Tea Party movement is to move the gubmint back towards fiscal conservatism and away from RINO and Liberal DemocRat policies that are sinking a once great nation. Conservatives come out in droves to support Conservative ideals that are not being supported by RINO Republicans and certainly not supported by Marxist Democrats who currently hold the power. That's the whole point.
Joe Wilson has joined the rest of America in calling out the Marxist left wing liars for what they are.

I used to think they were just misguided and then I looked at their overall behavior. There is no better indicator to one’s allegiance than what they choose to take offense to and even more so what they do not take offense of.
You have to believe it. It is like every time it snows on a global warming conference. God is great regardless of what liberals think.
Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC was so upset about this the other night. He was talking about Wilson being a big fundraising draw with such disdain in his voice, as if he thinks that Wilson planned it out this way. I wanted to yell at the screen and tell him that it was the Democrats who created the hero - if they’d have just left it alone, it would have been over the night of the SoTU speech. But NO, they had to make a big deal of it and declare Joe Wilson as public enemy number one.
The Dims desperately needed a distraction from their health care debacle. Wilson provided what they thought would be that distraction, but it didn't quite work out they way they'd planned. Look for more distractions in the near future....
You are wrong they are not the majority and have never been. Spend some time with rasmussen. Conservatves make up a clear majority in the GOP. All polling of Republicans show that the party is socially and fiscally conservative it is our leadership that doesn’t always get it.
