G20 protesters blasted by sonic cannon
US police spark outrage by using wartime acoustic weapon to disperse G20 protesters in Pittsburgh
Only a few hundreds protesters took to the streets of Pittsburgh to mark the opening day of the G20 summit of world leaders, but the police were taking no chances.
Sonic weapons or long-range acoustic devices have been used by the US military overseas, notably against Somali pirates and Iraqi insurgen

My copy of the US Constitution does not guarantee the right to engage in violent street protests which destroy public and private property.
Well my Constitution does guarantee due process, the right to assemble, free speech and a bunch of other things. Well actually it puts limits on the govt from imposing on those preexisting rights.
Where does your Constitution allow for summary executions?
‘No one has a right to violently riot for any reason”
For ANY reason? BS
“The police have a duty to maintain order and peace for the rest of us who are not trying to burn the city down.”
There are numerous cases where the police go after bystanders after being provoked by a few agitators. Its almost like the police can’t tell the difference between someone standing there with a camera and someone throwing rocks.
“They came for the Gypsies and I said nothing”
“They came for the Queers and I said nothing”
“They came for the Jews and I said nothing”
“They came for the Christians and I said nothing”
“They came for the Blacks and I said nothing”
“They came for the Arabs and I said nothing”
...etc..etc..
Now “THEY” are coming for ME and there is no one left to ‘talk’ to.
JUST DEPENDS ON WHOSE OX IS BEING GORED
Nothing to see here, move along.

If you are going to quote the Constitution, please quote it accurately. One does not have a right to riot.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Didn’t the Nazis have a sonic cannon they hoped would win the war for them? How long will it be before they deploy an atomic cannon on protesters? These are strange times.
Again, tell me where the right to engage in violent protests is guaranteed by the Constitution.
Let us assume for the sake of argument you are right and I am wrong, that the right to engage in violent protests is indeed a guaranteed right, does this mean people who use lethal force to defend their property from the rioters are also in the wrong?
I’m used to seeing nothing—nothings are how we got in this fix!
NOTHING left ‘cept the offspring of babyboomers, hippies, dopers of the ‘60s and thereafter!!!!!
For ANY reason? BS
No simple fact. This is the whole problem here. People seem to think they can act like thugs and bear no consequence for their actions.
IF you place yourself outside the law by rioting, your actions are infringing on others citizens rights to peacefully assemble. That is not legitimate dissent, that is fascism in action and should provoke a police response.
Try reading the Amendments, especially the Fourth and Fifth.
I'm wondering what research has been done on the effects of the sonic cannon on pregnant women and fetuses. Probably none.
Pssssst.....the Berlin Wall was built to keep people in, not out.
I did. Neither has any mention of guaranteed right to engage in violent rioting.
Though it is funny, the 5th Amendment acknowledges that we have a God-given right to own private property.
“that the right to engage in violent protests is indeed a guaranteed right, “
Its the “any” that I take exception to. There are times where it is just and legitimate for citizens to use force.
“does this mean people who use lethal force to defend their property from the rioters are also in the wrong?”
no, whatever gave you that idea.
Wow. You still advocate the police killing demonstrators and rioters while hiding behind the Constitution?
Killing street protesters on the spot...wow...mighty totalitarian of you.
It makes you wonder where Princess Poloise and the rest of the RAT leadership is on condemning these anti-American Nazi Angry Mobs
If the govt starts executing people in the street as pnh102 endorsed I guarantee there will be violent riots. Those violent riots may not be “legal” but they will be moral.
The “law” has been twisted by those in power. What was condemned 40 years ago is now encouraged.
“That is not legitimate dissent, that is fascism in action and should provoke a police response.”
Closing down an entire section of a city for a group of power mongers to meet and plot world domination pretty much is the definition of fascism. G20 is about controlling the world. You are letting the ignorant communists dressed like hippies mark your position.
Shooting, killing, beating, arresting non-violent protesters are things only a fascist govt does.
