I know it is home to the farmers. that is why they don’t want to leave. But is it worth their lives?
I don’t think many had a place to go. If they were multi-gen citizens, the Brit route was out, IIRC. SA has it’s own problems and I suspect the refugee option was not readily available in the rest of the Anglo-sphere.
Read a story about a journo traveling over there. They were stopped and asked [because they were white???] if they could help with a dairy farm. The thugs took it over, then didn’t know WTF to do with it. They also ran off the black workers who knew what they were doing. All for the greater good of the repressed proletariat.
Too true; when they change the name of your country to Mumbojumboland, you really do have to go. I understand what they accomplished there, but it is over.
