U.S. officials say Iran's nuclear plant is no secret to them

Intelligence officials say that they have known about the facility for years and that it's designed to hold enough centrifuges to possibly provide material for a single nuclear weapon each year.

Reporting from Washington - U.S. intelligence officials said today that they have known about a newly disclosed Iranian nuclear facility for several years -- possibly as early as 2006 -- and that its dimensions and design all but rule out any civilian nuclear purpose.

So if we've known about it for years, it cannot be for civilian nuclear purposes, and it can make a bomb's worth of enriched uranium each year - then why was an intelligence estimate issued that said Iran was years away from a bomb?

Seymour Hersch reported about the sites in ‘06 and said Bush was ready to strike these sites. Bush later admitted that there are secret sites but denied wanting to strike Iran since Hersch let the cat out of the bag.
