German citizens, not ethnic Germans from my understanding. North Africans via Germany.
While the article talks of "many" being born-Muslim immigrants originally from North Africa, there are also a number of "converts", ie native Europeans who converted to Islam. It is the latter I'm concerned about, since they can blend in better.
