I'm cool, and I have been reading what you've been saying.

You've been saying (repeatedly) that President Bush is like Nero. You're saying that he should stop being respectful of the office and the President and should act more like Clinton and Carter and attack a sitting President. You also said he was responsible for the mess we're in now, and that he lied about being a conservative.

And I repeat what I said in my last post. The enemy is Obama. Focus on him and not the good and decent man who risked his popularity and even his life to keep America safe.

You have a good weekend too, and reflect on my advice to you. Maybe you've been reading too many Bush hating posts and more of it has seeped into your consciousness than you've realized.

I'm having lunch tomorrow with four fine FReepers who all agree with me about President Bush. There are a whole lot more of us than most of you realize. I'm just the loudest one. :)

Now none of this has anything to do with the topic of the thread, so one of us needs to call this off. You may have the last word.

1)I did not compare Bush to Nero in anyway but that he fiddles (remains quiet) while our Nation is destroyed (Rome burns). You do me a great disservice by inferring otherwise.

2)Respect for the office is not more important than the survival of our Nation. Respect for the office is not more important than replying to the lies that the media told about Bush constantly... he allowed the media to convince America that he was a liar and that he was operating to make himself, his family and “cronies” rich and powerful... an absolutely absurd notion... but perception is reality and Bush allowed the media to shape him into a lying tyrant... which he was certainly not. THAT was a HUGE Mistake!

3)My opinion is that he is largely responsible for the political atmosphere that led to hussein’s election... to deny this is to deny the reality of what I posted above in number two.

4)Bush did call himself a Conservative and he was a Conservative in some ways... but he instituted the LARGEST entitlement program ever... exceeding even FDR... and he refused to learn from Reagan's mistake in compromising with kennedy on his signing Amnesty for 1.5 million illegals. He allowed kennedy to write an education bill and then allowed kennedy to drag Bush's name through the mud and he used the very bill that kennedy himself wrote, as a club with which to beat Bush... a huge mistake... and if he had pointed out that kennedy himself authored the bill that Bush signed into law... that argument would have damaged kennedy tremendously... but he remained silent... allowing the lie to become the truth. These are not Conservatives causes or ideology.

5)We cannot defeat our enemy if we refuse to learn the lessons of our past mistakes... and we cannot learn from our past mistakes if we refuse to see the reality of where we have been and how we got there.

6) I have breakfast with a large number of Conservatives once a month (ten are FReepers) and they ALL agree with what I have said. We have discussed these things many times.

We can disagree... but I want you to know that I have not tried to make this personal against you... but the tone you use with me seems at times to be somewhat uncivil.

We are fighting for the same side and the same things... in the end that is what is important. I have been involved in politics since Nixon's first run... this is not my first rodeo. I am not delusional and I do not hate Bush... I love the guy and his family... but one can feel great disappointment (at times) in a family member and that is where I stand when it comes to President Bush.
