Zazi Indicted For Conspiring To Detonate WMD

NEW YORK (CBS) - Najibullah Zazi, the Denver man believed to be the central figure in a terror plot against the New York City transit system, has officially been indicted on charges of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction against persons or property in the United States, CBS 2 has learned.

According to the Department of Justice, a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of New York returned a one-count indictment alleging that between Aug. 1, 2008 and Sept. 21, 2009, Zazi knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to use one or more weapons of mass destruction, specifically explosive bombs and other similar explosive devices, against persons or property within the United States. The indictment also alleges that Zazi and others traveled in interstate and foreign commerce, used email and the Internet, and that this offense and the results of the offense would have affected interstate and foreign commerce.

Authorities plan to transfer him to the federal court in Brooklyn to face the new charge.

Back to the topic. We should use this case to point out why we need to maintain wire tapping. It needs to be used as a tangible reason why PC need to be put aside and why radicals need to be tracked. Cheap attacks on OB are fun, but this case has far more potential for our side if it is taken seriously than if it becomes a punchline on Leno.

The blame attached to Obama, his administration and Democrat politicians in general is well earned and factually substantial. To dismissively label true accountability as a "blame game" is insulting to conservatives and dangerously naive.

FR only "looks ridiculous" to those who would feel that way regardless. I, for one, couldn't care less how we look to that group. To most of us -- politically-aware conservatives -- Mr. Obama is very dangerous and destructive to our country and cannot be monitored too closely.

That is what I was trying to figure out. I haven't gotten a definitive answer. The earlier posts showed that a standard explosive device would be a WMD for legal purposes. So that might be all that is to this. I just hope they got everybody or there will be a bunch of "Dead-Enders" running around. And a couple of fanatics running around knowing they are already toast can be as dangerous as an organized cell.

Back on topic, did you see that a judge just let the perps father out of prison. The lawyer expected people to be sorry for him because he couldn't find a place to stay. Well I'm not sure I would want to rent to a guy who used his last apartment for a bomb factory. It tends to bring down the property values.
