My dad taught me to always shake hands with a firm grip to let the other person know you are glad to see/meet them.

As years went on, there were always occasions when he and I and my two brothers-in-law would see who had the strongest grip. Even in his last year, my dad would always crush me.......He had the strongest handshake of any person I have ever met.

With that being said, whenever I shake hands with a guy who offers up just a dead fish, I make it a point to try and crush it............

I think you're right about most of the limp grippers, but sometimes you just can't tell by the grip. I know some musicians, mostly guitar players, who won't give you a firm grip. The wannabe boxers I used to know were really careful with their hands and didn't give a strong grip.

imho it is a breach of etiquette for a male to shake hands and with the alternate hand touch the other person UNLESS they are intimate friends. bammers does this to practically everyone and when i saw how he graced himself in front of the Queen i almost passed out. He is “inviting” intimacy but this is a passive-aggressive move by a full blown narcissist.

To protect yourself from the “man crush” alter your handshake so that your index finger is pointing back down arm towards their elbow, centered at the wrist. This changes the bio-mechanics just enough that if you apply just a little bit of pressure on the finger by trying to push the tip of your finger into the wrist, they cant “man crush” you.

The proper response to someone who does that to you is to put your left hand ON TOP of their shoulder and slightly pivot away from them. This makes it awkward for them to continue without a significant body shift on their part. And your left hand becomes the dominant.
