ACORN filed suit today in Maryland against conservative filmmakers James OKeefe, Hannah Giles and conservative Web site Breitbart.com for secretly taping the organizations employees at its Baltimore office.
In the complaint, ACORN alleges that the filmmakers entered into the organizations offices in July with a hidden camera and microphone and taped employees Tonja Thompson and Shera Williams. Both employees are listed as plaintiffs on the complaint, filed in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
ACORN is seeking $500,000 for each employee and $1 million for the organization in damages.
Yes, I can hardly wait for discovery, too!
... I wonder where all of those ACORN roots and limbs are going to lead...
Was Moore a liberal filmmaker?
Meant to ping you to post 157.
1. Is there a legal defense fund for the filmmakers?
2. If so, where is it?
3. What is the recommended donation?
I am a cynic: Wonder if the courts are too stacked for justice to be done?

An absolute certainty in Baltimore City, where killers walk and witnesses flee!
I do believe not a single AC0RN office will be left standing in America now.
Not a single window in their offices will be left.
Bring it on.
Thanx...appreciate the correction!

ACORN is threatening the ACORN 8 because it’s afraid of them and wants to shut them up. The group argues the ACORN 8 is violating ACORN’s intellectual property by using the word “ACORN” in its name. ACORN lawyer and longtime left-wing activist Arthur Z. Schwartz of the New York City law firm of Schwartz, Lichten & Bright PC recently sent the ACORN 8 a “cease and desist” letter giving the group’s members until June 30 (today) to close shop.
Reid says that won’t happen.
ACORN is also suing whistleblower MonCrief to shut her up. ACORN finds MonCrief irritating because she has revealed much about the group’s internal operations to the media.

“1. Is there a legal defense fund for the filmmakers?”
Was wondering the same thing myself. Checkbook’s in the holster ready to whip out for these brave young patriots. I’ll bet there’ll be Wilson-esque amounts of donations if need be.
If there are more tapes involving Maryland, then I think an injunction is possible. If the other tapes don’t involve Maryland, then I don’t see how a MD judge would have jurisdiction over them.
The ignorance on this thread is truly breathtaking.
Apparently, the law in Maryland requires both parties agree to the audio portion of a taping.
Are they trying to keep other tapes from being released?
“Great idea ACORN - lets get this into a courtroom so we can exercise discovery on ALL of your operations......”
I doubt they would be going through with it if they have`nt already destroyed all evidence.
I'm wondering why anyone wouldn't think every ACORN office hasn't had their paper shredders working double-time meaning...what will be left to discover?
This is how they are going to try and get arou8nhd Discovery---the organization itself is not filing suit, but the two employees as individuals. Therefore, ACORN is going to argue that it is not subject to discovery.
