Medicare advantage plans are already starting to deny services. In the NW US, Noridian (a Medicare replacement plan) is denying coverage for spinal injections and spinal radio- frequency lesioning. These procedures have numerous well designed studies their supporting use and have been covered by Medicare and most private insurance companies for over 20 years. These procedures are highly effective in relieving pain from spinal arthritis. These procedures have enabled many people to avoid invasive spinal surgery and narcotic medications.

I sincerely hope that this is not a foretaste of Obamacare and the rape of modern medicine.

If it is covered by Medicare and not the Medicare Advantage plan, drop the advantage plan and go back to medicare.
