Yes, The Ticker is formally calling for a national bank boycott on Bank of America.
I'm serious.
And this has nothing to do with the fact that I believe they're hiding losses, that they're under investigation 7 ways from Sunday regarding the Merrill merger, or that BofA likes to bang you in the backside with usurious "overdraft fees", even though any of those standing alone is more than enough reason to run this bank into the ground.
Nope.
It is about this:
A South Carolina Bank of America branch is drawing criticism Thursday after an employee reportedly ordered the removal of American flags placed to honor a fallen Marine over fears that people would be offended.
The Palmetto Scoop received one eyewitness email claiming that the branch manager at Bank of Americas Gaffney branch at 1602 West Floyd Baker Blvd. told a citizen who was preparing the route for a U.S. Marine killed in action in Afghanistan by placing small American flags along the roadway that the flags might upset some of her customers.
Said the outraged tipster, [The branch manager] took them down and made the citizen go in to get them if she didnt want them thrown away.
The flags were part of the funeral procession of Lance Corporal Christopher Fowlkes, 20, who died last week after an explosion in Afghanistans Helmand province.

Didn’t the corporate response say that it WASN’T their policy?
Yeah. Sounds like a local exec made a poor call.
Of course...AFTER they got caught...
I don’t have any accounts with them so sure...I’m in.
They already apologized 100 times. Sheesh it was a district manager who did not do the right thing. The head of Bank of America came on FOX News and multiplied by 100 apologized.
Bank of Amigo, refuse to do business with them since the ‘90s.
I know of a local department that sends around 100 boxes a month to the troops. Should I ask them to stop because you don’t like them anymore.
What else would you expect them to say? Truth is this was a funeral for a soldier. I think those flags might have been okay there for about an hour or so. They could have just humored the people in this town. They deserve what they get. I mean, they owe the taxpayers about 45 billion bucks that we will never be repaid. I think they could have let a few flags stick down close to the road awhile.
They hired the bank manager. Perhaps they should be more cautious about hiring military hating bank managers.
Isn’t their logo an American flag anyway? Maybe they didn’t want any competition.
Minutes later, the BOA spokesman appeared on CNN & MSNBC to apologize to their viewers for apologizing on Fox News.
Off, OFF damned sarcasm!
Bank of America is not an American bank. It was started during the depression by Italy. It's an Italian bank that was only started in America.
I don't think they want to upset the American people. I think they simply wished this didn't happen, so now they have to cover their butts. Had it not gone national, my guess is they probably wouldn't have done anything about it.
And when none of the payments were made, was not the US TAXPAYER stuck with the damn bill?
FU, Bank of America.
The White House and Obama have BoA in their crosshairs. They’ve been ticked off ever since the BoA president stated under oath that he was threatened by them.
I’m not a big fan of BoA but their president did have the backbone to tell the truth about the strong armed tactics of our government. He stood up to the service employees union too.
Attacking BoA plays right into the hands of our current administration.
Another reason to boycott... they support Acorn.
Why not just pull out of that branch and complain to corporate?
Political correctness was designed to silence anyone from speaking out against the liberal special interest groups. The U.S. flag is politically incorrect. It offends those who aren't American, and it offends those who feel communism is the answer to every ill.
Maybe this man is a victim of that propaganda. Maybe he honestly was afraid. Maybe he was afraid he'd be charge with a thought crime by a leftist if he didn't put a stop to the "offensive display."
You'd be surprised how many people are afraid to think and speak freely these days. It's sad, but true. The rabid leftists can be vicious. Some of them don't even act human.
Cancelled m accounts with them a couple of yeas ago after their mortgages for illegals became public knowledge.
I have boycotted BofA for over forty years.
