The doctors are likely the least part of it. The social worker hive carries much more clout. Even the non partisan National Alliance for the Mentally Ill recently lamented how cuckoo the Washington state system is. It’s impossible to get an acute sufferer from mental illness into a hospital there unless a bee from the social worker hive gives her blessing. All this was done in the name of civil rights but what actually happens is that street people languish without treatment until something horrible like a murder happens.

I went to a Seattle Mariners/New York Yankees game in Seattle with family and afterwards there were police cars all over the place. This was why:
