Yes, if there were a major deadly epidemic or a horrific bio-terrorist attack. we would want appropriate measures taken to reduce the spread of disease and limit morbidity and mortality...but...so much power should not be in one person's hands. And...There should be a transparent system for judging when the emergency has passed.
Be afraid! but most importantly BE PREPARED and stand with like minded citizens.
What will you do if the Government takes down your communications networks? As you well know, they have been laying such plans for awhile, so you can either stand alone or stand together with fellow citizens in your state:
Alarm and Muster The document that started a movement.
Alarm and Muster The Modern Day Call Tree for Emergency Preparation.
Look up the measures to eradicate polio and small pox, especially those last few enclaves of people in Africa and South America.
For that matter, look up the laws on control of TB.
And the ethicists have been debating this, along with what some of them call the nonsense idea of conscience with much less passion than global warming or evolution.
And then, there is the right of self defense. If a disease has the kill ratio of small pox - and is highly contagious - then people with the disease are a direct threat to everyone they come in contact with.
This is the very reason, I do not like the Patriot Act. Get the word out to everyone. I know the push is on here.
