I am scared out of my wits, my friends... Take this in context with what is going on in MA, NJ, OK, and several other states. Remember that our current Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security was the Governor of Arizona... This same office recently published a document that described most of us as possible domestic terrorists... and I have discovered this revised document to Arizona's public health statutes. Something very bad is in the works... and I do not think it in our best interests to ignore the warning signs. God do I pray I am wrong.

I didn't see any references to warrants or court or legislative overview. It appears that one person has tremendous power to define an event as bio-terrorism or a naturally occurring epidemic, and there is no means whatsoever to have oversight of this person's actions.

Yes, if there were a major deadly epidemic or a horrific bio-terrorist attack. we would want appropriate measures taken to reduce the spread of disease and limit morbidity and mortality...but...so much power should not be in one person's hands. And...There should be a transparent system for judging when the emergency has passed.

Look up the measures to eradicate polio and small pox, especially those last few enclaves of people in Africa and South America.

For that matter, look up the laws on control of TB.

And the ethicists have been debating this, along with what some of them call the nonsense idea of conscience with much less passion than global warming or evolution.

And then, there is the right of self defense. If a disease has the kill ratio of small pox - and is highly contagious - then people with the disease are a direct threat to everyone they come in contact with.
