San Bernardino became the latest Inland city to ban medical marijuana dispensaries late Monday.
- The report notes that California's decriminalization conflicts with federal law. Studies by other cities show dispensaries contribute to increases in noise, traffic, burglaries and robberies, the report states.

I am very glad they are closing them down. They are starting to open the dispensaries near schools.

Bad news for Hostess and Frito-Lay!
Hmmm, what’s the data on bars and liquor stores? We ought to shut them down too. Why not?
CVS and Rite Aid ought to be shut down too! There is one not a few blocks away from my kids’ school and they dispense opium!
My medsin! My medsin! Po-lice took my medsin!
What would Ron Paul do?
“Studies by other cities show dispensaries contribute to increases in noise, traffic, burglaries and robberies”
WTF?
That’s horrid. Near schools! The next thing you’ll see are liquor stores near schools!
There is one 500 feet from a elementary school
And there was a liquor store about 900 feet from my high school. And a bowling alley next to it with a bar inside!
Having a dispensary near a school is in violation of Title IV the Federal Safe Schools Act of 1994 and various state laws that are linked here

I do take back Title IV because there is nothing mentioned there. However, there are states that have the 1000 feet rule. California does have that rule.
A dispensary in general is a violation of Federal law. The Feds are welcome to bust them if they are near a school or miles away from a school.
The question is are these a violation of California law. I haven’t seen anything yet that suggests that.
Its called the School Zone Anti-Drug law
There is the School Zone Anti-Drug law . If you sell a controlled substance within a 1000 feet of a school you can go to jail
Curious, can you link that law to me? I’ve been searching but I haven’t found it.
I’ve seen a law that doesn’t allow smoking pot within 1000 feet of a school (unless in one’s own residence), but that isn’t exactly the same as selling it.
That being said, I have no problem with making a 1,000 yard buffer for dispensaries. There should also be one for liquor stores (or any place that is allowed to sell alcohol) and bars.
If you sell an controlled substance within or not within 1000 yards of a school you can go to jail. That law is about increased penalties than the penalties themselves (ie you can go to jail for 5 years instead of 2).
