I had no idea that lovely lady was still living. I hope she makes lots of money with her new album so she can enjoy her remaining years in comfort.

Does anyone her remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that we would meet again
some sunny day.

Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?

We would meet again
Some sunny day?
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you?
Does anybody else here
Feel the way I do?

"We'll meet again/ Don't know where/ Don't know when/ But I know we'll meet again/ Some sunny day."

I always think of Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove” movie when I here that song.

It was the closing credits music.

Of course, we shouldn’t forget her rendition of “The White Cliffs of Dover” if we are looking at her music.

My parents had a 78 RPM record of Dame Vera singing “Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart”. I literally wore it out from playing it over and over and over......

Yep. I love that tune. I used it in a video I made when my mom passed away a few years back. It was perfect.

I believe it was the unofficial tune of the Eighth Air Force in WWII...

Vera Lynn singing “When the Lights Come On Again” still shakes me to the core.

It’s just beautiful. Perfect. The perfect song for the time.

I’m positively delighted to know she’s still alive.

I do not know her by her face. I only know her by her voice, and whenever I hear her sing I’m reminded of that old feeling...

...Not the love of a spouse—cyborg is more than words can say—but instead the nostalgia of merely the thought of an old romance back in a day long gone by.
