They had “spy on your neighbor” programs in Nazi Germany, and in communist East Germany, Cuba, China, Vietnam, and the Soviet Union. Except for the Nazis, all of these regimes also ran brutal “reeducation” camps; the Nazis called their camps something else as we all know.
Of the above countries, neither Russia nor Germany have “spy on your neighbor” programs nor “reeducation” camps.
We are America, the “land of the free and the home of the brave”. Do we want to institute the evil totalitarian programs no longer practiced even in Russia and Germany, or do we want to reduce ourselves to the level of Third-World communist Cuba or Vietnam? That is the choice.
