What we’re after here is a term that will be utilized in the popular vernacular that is descriptive of the dying publishing monopolies currently held by the old guard media. Any new term that enters popular usage that has negative connotations for the old guard media is a big win for us.
Because many people would violently disagree that the old guard media is biased (including themselves), any politically loaded term is not going to enter popular usage.
We’re not interested in the old guard media’s mind set. You and I and all right-thinking people know what their mind set is. What we’re interested in is hastening the death of their media institutions as well as promoting our media institutions as positive alternatives, and to help do this, we need to promote a new term for describing them which is slightly derogatory, and which gets picked up in popular usage among everyone, not just select conservatives.
Well I think we can label the whole shootin match...
The Fringe Democracy
But they are not uninformed. They are, in the words of Charlie Gibson, "purposefully oblivious". They know what's going on, they just choose not to report it when it makes liberalism/socialism look bad.
To say "uninformed" assumes that they are simply incompetent. I want people to realize that they are being fed pure socialist propaganda.
“Enemedia” is mine.

Popular usage does not equal universal usage. I'm shooting for popular, not universal. I'm not shooting to convert them, but rather to tarnish them with the truth among the vast number of people who don't know much and tend to be influenced by what they hear most.
Put the media on the defense and make no bones about the fact that they are partisan. In fact, one of the advantages to saying "partisan" is that it surpasses the old biased argument. In effect, the argument is over when "partisan liberal (or socialist) media" becomes commonly heard.
I don’t care what they call themselves. Your name is what people call you, not what you claim to be called.
MSM is now commonly used by conservatives throughout newsprint and the airwaves. I think it would be very useful to change that to PLM or Partisan Socialist Media.
Seems like the logical choice should be PCMedia (not politically correct), but Progressive Caucus Media (PCM) for obsessed with the perpetuation of socialism.
Have the argument with catnipman.
I understand both sides of this argument, I’ve laid out in great detail both sides, I’m not taking a side. Your argument has merit and catnipman’s argument has merit.
I’ll read the argument between you and catnipman.
Communist Media.
Simple. Direct. Accurate.
Just read my last to you and see how it could be taken as a snappy comeback. That was not my intent. I very much have appreciated your input. Just talking with brevity.
I like PCM. Its very descriptive, but I’m afraid that the people who aren’t political wouldn’t understand it.
Anyone here who claims anything like “State Run Media” or “Government Media” or any variation of that is flat wrong. The media wasn’t State run when Bush was the President. They won’t be state run in 2011 if the Democrats lose control of Congress. They will always be the Democrat Party Propaganda Ministry.

I found my request. It was in two parts in the bottom of my round file holder.
One thing’s for sure, the media are no longer “Main Stream”. So what ever name is chosen in lieu of “MSM” must be accurate and evoke loathing.
That’s why I favor something like Demrat Commie Shill Press.

Anyway, it is a brilliant invention and describes my feelings to a "T".
I didn’t take offense. I just have spent too much time typing on this thread. You’re the leader of your position, and the other dude is the leader of his. I want to see you 2 argue your positions against each other. Neither one of you has a silly pointless name, you both have good reasons for your positions, you should be arguing your postition agains the other well thought out position.
I’ll watch and jump in if I feel like it.
Very well then. I just didn’t want you to think I was being a jerk.
Good point.
I have the same feelings as you do re State Media.
At this time I’m leaning to: Progressively Liberal Mediots or PLM.
A younger and creative relatitve sent me: Dead on Arrival Media or DOA media.
Most media members are sheep and the democrats love it.
